Starting to think about my entries for the 2016 North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival. That sent me to find pictures of my entries from 2015 so I could post them here at https://donnamcmillen300.wordpress.com.
Last year’s theme was “Fostered Fiber—Remembrance, Remnants and Mentors.”
I entered two pieces, “Bright Fabric Memories” and “Memory Weaving.”
“Bright Fabric Memories,” completed in August of 2015, is a 4×20 inch wall hanging. It combines my love of color, texture, fabric and yarn, all subjects I’ve been learning more about as a member of North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild.
“Memory Weaving,” also completed in August of 2015, is a 12×22 inch wall hanging.
It began as an unfinished project on a loom given to me. Yarn came from the mentor who gave the loom and my own collection, including skeins bought for a family Christmas project in 2014.
North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival is an annual event on the North Olympic Peninsula in Washington State on the first weekend in October. The festival offers exhibitions, demonstrations, classes and a Fiber Arts Market.
