in my weaving room. In recent months, I:
- Finished the table loom project I warped with friends from the New Weavers group at North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild. I wove two pieces that were originally intended to be dish towels when we warped the loom in July.
- Completed three projects on my rigid heddle loom. One was a gift for the person who helped me find the loom and the other remains with me to remind me of the fun of mixing yarns and colors. Photos will be added here soon.
- Picked up the two pieces I submitted for the North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival last October and November at the Museum & Arts Center in Sequim.
- Attended the February 2017 meeting of the North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild, where Robin Spady spoke about color theory and introduced us to several websites that offer information about color.
One site I’ve spent a lot of time at recently is colourlovers.com, which offers the opportunity to set up your own palettes to share with other people. I set up several palettes, which incorporated four colors the site hadn’t given a name to: Royal Blue, Fuchsia, Buttery Yellow, and Valentine’s Purple.
