This page is a list of resources related to art endeavors discussed here on Words & Other Arts. More resources will be added in the future as my list of inspirational creative magazines and artists grows.
Artists who have inspired me include cardmakers, quilters, painters and graphic designers. Some of the quilters have appeared on an Internet television show called The Quilt Show, http://www.thequiltshow.com.
All of the teachers who appear with hosts Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims offer inspiration and techniques for quilters, so I had a challenge limiting this list to two for now. I’ve been especially inspired by the work of Laura Cater-Woods, episode 613, and Lola Jenkins, episode 902.
Laura Cater-Woods describes herself as “a working studio artist who has integrated her love of fabric and thread with her approach to drawing and painting,” She teaches internationally for conferences, guilds, shops and private groups.
Lola Jenkins creates portraits, fantasy collages, silhouettes and thread art. She gives programs and workshops for groups and organizations in the United States and abroad.
She states on her website, “I don’t know the rules, so I couldn’t break the rules of quilting.” She has won numerous first place ribbons, best of show, judge’s choice award, and best use of color.
From introductory to more advanced articles about rubber stamping, the people, tools and techniques that make it so much fun.
More magazine resources will be added as I continue to explore art on the Internet. If you have a favorite site you’d like to share, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know about it.
Besides the quarterly RubberStampMadness magazine, there is also a rubber stamp art book called Stamping All Year Long.
